Welcome to the unique tour exploring the pristine beauty of the Northwest mountains! This 5-day, 4-night journey takes you from Hanoi through Mu Cang Chai, Sapa, and Dien Bien, where you’ll experience stunning terraced fields, conquer Fansipan Peak, and discover the historical sites of Dien Bien Phu. Enjoy the unique cuisine of the ethnic minorities and admire breathtaking landscapes. This is a wonderful opportunity to breathe in fresh air, learn about rich cultures, and relax amidst nature.
Itinerary
5:30 AM – 6:00 AM: Our driver and tour guide will pick you up from hotels in the Old Quarter and the Hanoi Opera House to begin the Northwest loop journey.
6:15 AM: The bus may also pick up passengers at Gate 1 of the National Convention Center (beginning of Thang Long Avenue). After leaving the highway, we will stop for a break and have breakfast (if desired). Then, we continue our journey to Mù Cang Chải. On the way, we will stop to take photos at the green tea hills of Thanh Sơn in Phú Thọ.
11:00 AM: Arrive at Nghĩa Lộ town for lunch. After lunch, the group continues to Mù Cang Chải. Enjoy the scenic views of Mường Lò rice fields along the way. Learn about Tú Lệ, famous for its delicious sticky rice and beautiful Thai girls, along with the local bathing tradition. Take pictures at the symbol of Mù Cang Chải at the foot of Khau Phạ Pass.
2:00 PM: Stop at the peak of Khau Phạ Pass, which is approximately 2100 meters high. Khau Phạ, according to local language, means “Horn of Heaven,” where heaven and earth meet. From the peak, enjoy the panoramic view of Khau Phạ Valley, with the distant villages of Lìm Thái and Lìm Mông. Here, you may also see professional paragliders during the “Flying on Golden Season” event in September.
3:30 PM: We will stop to take motorbike taxis to visit the famous Mâm Xôi terraced rice fields. Following the guide’s instructions, you will pay for the motorbike taxi (you can bargain for the price) to explore and take photos at the most famous terraced fields in Mù Cang Chải. Take pictures at the terraced fields shaped like a shoe at Cầu Ba Nhà.
6:00 PM: Return to Mù Cang Chải town to check into your hotel and relax.
7:00 PM: Dinner. In the evening, you have free time to relax and enjoy. Overnight stay in Mù Cang Chải.
6:30 AM: Check out of the hotel and have breakfast at the restaurant, then continue to Sapa. On the way, enjoy beautiful landscapes in Than Uyên, Tân Uyên, and Tam Đường, especially admire the majestic Ô Quy Hồ Pass, the most famous among the four great passes in the North.
Lunch: Arrive in Sapa, enjoy lunch, and check into your hotel to rest.
2:00 PM: The bus and guide will take you to the Fansipan cable car station to start your journey to conquer Fansipan using the world’s most modern three-rope cable car system, with cabins that can hold up to 30 passengers.
From the upper station, pass through the Thanh Vân Đắc Lộ Gate to reach the land of clouds. The Bích Vân Thiền Tự temple, situated at an altitude of over 2000m, welcomes visitors and Buddhists from afar with its purely Vietnamese architecture amidst the mist; as you walk, the sound of bells echoes through the mountains, and at an altitude of 3000m, you will see the imposing 21.5m tall statue of Amitabha Buddha, majestically looking over the world below. In that sacred and serene moment, you may pray among the warm spring atmosphere and the blooming buds of rhododendrons, rice, peaches, and plums. From the Amitabha statue, the La Hán path leads you to the Kim Sơn Bảo Thắng Tự complex, showcasing the ancient beauty of Vietnamese wooden temples from the 15th-16th centuries. You can pay homage to the Avalokiteshvara statue, the Mountain God temple, etc. Surrounded by hundreds of years old rhododendron trees, which are about to bloom in March and April.
Finally, after overcoming 600 green stone steps, you will reach the summit of Fansipan at 3143m, the “Roof of Indochina.” Here, you can gaze out at the vastness around you, filled with unique emotions and personal wishes.
6:00 PM: Dinner. In the evening, you have free time for activities. You may choose to enjoy a Dao herbal bath for relaxation after a day of sightseeing (at your own expense). Overnight stay in Sapa.
6:30 AM: Breakfast at the hotel and leisure time. Enjoy a morning coffee at the restaurant.
7:00 AM: The bus and guide will pick you up to visit the Rồng Mây Glass Bridge located at Ô Quy Hồ Pass in Tam Đường district, Lai Châu. The guide will assist you in purchasing tickets for activities, which include:
- Glass Bridge Elevator
- Games: Wooden Bridge, Speed Zipline, Death Swing, Infinity Bed
After leaving the Glass Bridge, continue conquering Ô Quy Hồ Pass to enjoy stunning mountain and river views. Take pictures at the Lai Châu city monument, pass through Phong Thổ, with picturesque roads; traverse areas known mainly from books, such as the upper reaches of the Đà River, Sìn Hồ district, the Nậm Na River, and then arrive at the center of Mường Lay with its stilt houses of the Black Thai ethnic group.
12:00 PM: Lunch at a restaurant in Mường Lay. After lunch, continue to Điện Biên.
3:00 PM: Arrive at Điện Biên Phủ city, where the bus will take you to visit:
- The Điện Biên Victory Monument.
- The Đờ Cát bunker, where General Christian de Castries worked and commanded. Next, take photos at Mường Thanh Bridge and Nậm Rốm River.
- A1 Hill, the site of the fierce battles from the past.
6:00 PM: Check into your hotel and relax.
7:00 PM: Dinner. You have free time in the evening. If desired, the group may request a dinner exchange at a Black Thai village in Điện Biên, with additional costs for any incurred expenses. Overnight stay in Điện Biên.
6:30 AM: Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
7:30 AM: The group will board the bus to Mộc Châu. The guide will introduce you to Mường Phăng, a historic site and the command center for the Điện Biên Phủ campaign, directly led by General Võ Nguyên Giáp in 1954.
Crossing through Tuần Giáo district, conquer the 32km-long Pha Đin Pass located on National Highway 6, between Điện Biên and Sơn La. Stop at the pass’s peak for commemorative photos; on the way to Mộc Châu, stop at Sơn La city to take pictures at the Sơn La city monument and the Cò Nòi Intersection monument.
12:00 PM: Lunch in Mộc Châu. After lunch, you will visit:
In the afternoon, the guide will take you to visit (entrance fees not included):
- Dải Yếm Waterfall – A small waterfall but incredibly beautiful. Legend has it that this waterfall is the “Yếm” (a traditional shawl) of a girl who saved a boy from the floods.
- Visit the first Glass Bridge of Love in Vietnam (entrance fee at your expense).
Afterward, the bus will take you to Mường Sang. Here, you can choose between two famous attractions: Happy Land or the Bạch Long Glass Bridge, the longest in the world.
- Happy Land is nearly 5 hectares in size, located in a vast valley in Bản Lùn, Mường Sang. Visitors are welcomed by a variety of flower beds, including species unique to the Northwest region.
- The Bạch Long Glass Bridge spans two mountains, measuring 285m in length, with a width of 2.4m and large glass panels of 2.4m x 3m. Utilizing 9D effect technology with 60 sound and image effects, creating an immersive experience. The Glass Skywalk stretches 370m along the cliff edge (150m deep ravine), featuring two protruding sections that are 3m wide and 5m long, providing panoramic views of the tourism area for visitors to take photos.
6:30 PM: Return to the restaurant for dinner. After dinner, the bus will take you back to the hotel to rest. In the evening, you have free time to explore Mộc Châu at night. Overnight stay in Mộc Châu.
6:15 AM: Check out of the hotel and take a bus to have breakfast at a local restaurant.
8:00 AM: The bus will take you to Mai Châu, where you can visit:
- Pom Coong Village, home to the White Thai ethnic people. Here, you can see traditional stilt houses and witness the ethnic people’s lifestyle.
- Visit local markets for unique handicrafts, textiles, and food.
11:30 AM: Enjoy lunch with a traditional meal at a local restaurant.
After lunch, you will depart for Hanoi, arriving around 6:00 PM. The tour ends, and you will receive a warm farewell from our staff.
Tour Price Includes:
- Tourist vehicles with 7 to 29 seats (depending on the number of guests) as per the program
- 04 nights accommodation in 2-3 star hotels, 02 guests per room (in case of odd numbers, 3 guests will share a room)
- 09 main meals as per the program, priced at 120,000 VND/meal
- 04 breakfasts at 30,000 VND/meal or according to hotel standards (depending on the hotel)
- Entrance tickets to all points specified in the program
- Complimentary bottled water served on the vehicle, at a rate of 01 bottle 500ml/person/day
- Tour guide service according to the program
Tour Price Excludes:
- VAT invoices
- Tickets for entertainment at Dragon Cloud Glass Bridge, White Dragon Glass Bridge, and Happy Land Moc Chau
- Round trip cable car tickets for Fansipan. Guests can register before purchasing the tour or can pay the cable car ticket directly to the guide in Sapa at the actual retail price without any additional costs. If guests purchase tickets themselves (tickets not provided by the organizing unit), the cost of transportation from the hotel to the cable car station will be borne by them.
- Costs for entrance tickets at main scenic spots as the ticket prices in Moc Chau often change unexpectedly and there is no prior notification for travel agencies to inform customers. (Guests can pay before booking the tour or the guide will collect the fees directly to purchase for the entire group).

- Dai Yem Waterfall: 80,000 VND/ticket
- Love Glass Bridge: 100,000 VND/ticket
- Happy Land: 100,000 VND/ticket
- White Dragon Glass Bridge: 650,000 VND/ticket
- Ang Village Pine Forest: 80,000 VND/ticket
- Costs for fruit picking and photography at local flower and fruit gardens, ranging from 20,000 – 40,000 VND/point (if there is someone collecting fees).
- Drinks during meals, at hotels, and other personal expenses
- Single accommodation costs (in case guests register alone and cannot share a room with others or request to sleep alone).
Tips for Drivers and Tour Guides: If guests are satisfied with the service of the driver and guide, they may voluntarily tip them. The tip is completely optional but typically starts from 50,000 VND/person/day.
Tip guideline for foreign guests: 3 USD/person/day
Children’s Policy (please read carefully to understand the standards for children):
- Children from 1-4 years old are free of charge (parents cover any related costs). 02 adults can accompany 01 child for free; from the second child, a 50% tour price applies (includes half a meal and other related services, but still shares a bed with parents). If 01 adult travels with 01 child who qualifies for free service, this child must pay 50% of the adult tour price, and the adult will also have to pay for single accommodation as per regulations.
- Children from 5-9 years old pay 75% of the tour price: includes separate meals, a seat on the vehicle in Sapa, and child admission tickets. If this child has to pay adult ticket prices due to height restrictions at the tourist site, they will only pay a maximum of 75% of the ticket price (any extra costs must be paid directly to the guide). 02 children at 75% do not count as 01 adult; they will not have separate beds and must sleep with parents.
- Children from 10 years old and above are considered adults and receive adult services.
General Notes:
- Guests on the tour (especially those related to waterways, trains, planes, or tours to border areas) must carry legal identification documents (ID card/Passport). Children under 14 must carry their birth certificate. Children from 14 years old must have an ID card or passport.
- It is advisable to bring medications for stomach issues, diarrhea, and common cold/fever.
- Guests who are vegetarians should bring additional vegetarian food to meet their dietary needs.
- Any services in the tour that guests do not use due to no fault of the organizing unit will not be refunded.
- The guide has the right to rearrange the order of visits based on specific departure conditions, as long as all points in the program are ensured.
- If there are 10 guests or fewer on the departure day, the driver may also serve as the guide. These drivers are experienced and knowledgeable about the route and local culture.
- As this is a mountainous tour, we recommend guests not to bring bulky or oversized luggage and to avoid bringing excessive luggage. A backpack is preferred over hard suitcases.
- There are options for staying in homestays to enhance the mountain tour experience. Guests should bring personal items for use when at the homestay (if needed).
- In case a solo traveler cannot be matched with someone else, they will have to pay a single accommodation fee equivalent to 50% of the room price per night throughout the tour.
(*) Customer Responsibilities: Customers are responsible for their health and chronic illnesses (heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, joint issues…), congenital diseases, latent diseases, HIV AIDS, mental and neurological disorders, and pregnancy, which are not covered by insurance. If necessary, guests must write a commitment regarding their illnesses when participating in the tour. The organizing unit is not responsible for cases where guests do not declare illnesses or declare untruthfully, as well as cases beyond the scope of travel insurance. Customers must take care of their personal belongings in all situations and at all places during the trip. The organizing unit is not responsible for any loss of money, valuable items, airline tickets, and personal belongings of customers during the trip.
